ABOUT US
Taamara is a 4-bedroom duplex villa located in the very heart of Wayanad district in Kerala, popularly known as God's own country. This homestay is a rare combination of elegance and earthiness and stands out for its rich green hues, tranquility, cleanliness, warmth, comfort and a closer to nature experience. We provide best value for your money in a natural and homely atmosphere.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and two more on the floor above, each with attached bathrooms.
Air-conditioners have recently been fitted in all 4 bedrooms as an afterthought, although we discourage the use of energy-intensive appliances that leave a heavy carbon footprint. THE TARIFFS DO NOT INCLUDE AC as we prefer to limit AC usage in the best interest of the environment. GUESTS SHALL BE CHARGED SEPARATELY FOR AC USAGE.
ACCESS
Wayanad is located at an altitude of 2100 meters above sea level and is a picturesque hill station that is easily accessible by air and road. The nearest cities are Mysore and Kozhikode (2.5 hour drive each). The closest airport is Kozhikode. Wayanad is about 220 kms from Bangalore via Mysore.
Taamara is centrally located within Wayanad district with most tourist attractions being less than 50 kms away. The property is easily accessible through smooth, winding roads that offer a pleasant drive as you zip past acres of unending greenery. And as you hit the driveway, Taamara, as the name suggests, welcomes you with blooming lotuses and colourful flora. The farmhouse stands tall in the midst of a 4-acre lush green property and is surrounded by idyllic landscapes.
AMENITIES
We offer a variety of amenities to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible.
- The building comprises of a living room, 4 bedrooms with attached baths, a dining hall, kitchen and large sit-outs. Up to 16 people can be comfortably accommodated in the house.
- There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and two more on the floor above. All 4 bedrooms are spacious and well-ventilated and offer beautiful views.
- The attached baths have basic amenities like geyser, shower, towels and basic toiletries.
- Our property is work friendly with good Wi-Fi connectivity and 24x7 inverter power backup. We also have an alluring rooftop deck surrounded by picturesque views where you can work in absolute peace.
- Secured parking space is available for up to 6 cars.
- Other amenities include TV, Projector, Party Speaker with mic, RO purified water for drinking, pure filtered water in taps, inverter, fire extinguisher, CCTV, medical kit, doctor on call, 24x7 assistance, wheelchair ramp, separate accommodation for up to 2 drivers, indoor and outdoor games, bonfire, cleaning and laundry services upon request etc.

FOOD
- Food is available upon request and is strictly vegetarian. Our food is freshly and hygienically prepared in the additional kitchen behind the main building. Much of the food is sourced from our organic farm in the backyard. Milk, curd and ghee are sourced from our organic dairy farm less than a km away. We encourage the use of local and seasonal produce and plan our menu accordingly.
- We have an in-house kitchen as well, with a refrigerator, microwave oven and basic essentials to prepare tea/coffee.
- However, if you wish to cook a meal, appliances like gas stove, mixer grinder and basic utensils will be provided at an additional cost. Please note that groceries will not be provided by us. You may pick them up from the nearest store about a km away.

THINGS TO DO AT TAAMARA
- Take a short plantation tour of our little farm.
- Feed the fish in our little backyard pond.
- Play with calves or caress a goat in our cattle farm nearby.
- Sink into one of our outdoor hammocks under the shade of trees and allow the gentle breeze to lull you into sleep.
- Sweat it out in the play court with a game of badminton, volleyball or cricket. Alternatively, you can keep yourself entertained indoors with a game of carrom or some board games.
- Try your hand at kite flying, if you haven't already.
- Cozy up with your gang in our large bonfire sit-out on cold nights.
- Take a refreshing early morning hike along the country roads lined with lush green paddy fields on both sides.
- Splash around in the beautiful stream less than a km away.
- Visit Manikavu tribal school and Manikavu Swayambhu Shiva temple that are just a short walk away.
